Mom, I’m sorry that I wasn't there when you shed your last tear, then took your last breath. I knew that night was your last and left you with Angie, your beloved first born, my fiercely loving sister. She dried your tears and held your hands. Angie told you that we loved you, that you were a wonderful mom, and that we would be okay.

I hope you understood. I needed to go home, to see my husband and children, to sleep in my own bed. I kissed my children and husband goodnight. Then, the call came before my head hit the pillow. You had left this life to be with your Savior. And for that, I count it all joy.
