The short version
- Partners earn money on Urnovl from Bravos (tips), page subscriptions and page store sales.
- By default you keep 90% of the net amount. Your exact shares are always shown in your Earnings settings.
- Money becomes available 30 days after a payment. You can withdraw it to your Stripe account once you have at least €10.
- We issue the tax documents for your payouts. You remain responsible for your own taxes.
- We tell you 15 days in advance before we change these terms, and we tell you why if we suspend or end your partnership.
1. The parties
This agreement is between you (the "partner") and:
Anadyme Limited
Registered office: Pinelopis 5, Vera Court, Flat 401, 3101 Limassol, Cyprus
Registrar of Companies No.: HE 380526
EU company ID (EUID): CYDRCOR.HE380526
Email: support@urnovl.co
A partner can be:
- an individual (a user partnership), at least 18 years old; or
- a business or organisation that runs an Urnovl page (a page partnership). The page owner applies on its behalf and confirms they are allowed to bind it.
This agreement adds to our Terms of Service, House Rules and Terms of Pay. If they conflict on a partnership matter, this agreement applies.
2. Joining the program
You apply from the Become a partner option on your profile or page. You give us:
- your legal first and last name; or, for a page, the business legal name, business type and the representative's name;
- your tax details: country of tax residency, tax ID (for example your Greek AFM or your business tax ID) and VAT ID where you have one;
- your acceptance of this agreement, and of self-billing (section 9) where it applies.
Your details must be true and complete, and you must keep them up to date in your Earnings settings.
We review every application. We tell you if we approve or decline it, and why we decline. You can apply again after a decline. The agreement starts when we approve your application.
3. Your Stripe account
To receive money, you open a Stripe Connect account from your Earnings tab after approval. Stripe checks your identity and bank details, as financial law requires, under its own Connected Account Agreement.
You can receive Bravos, offer subscription tiers and sell in a store only while your Stripe account is connected.
4. How you earn
In every case, we first take out the VAT that we must pay on the sale. What remains is the net amount.
Readers can send you Bravos from your stories, profile or page. You keep your tip share of the net amount (90% by default), minus Stripe's processing fee for that payment. We keep the rest.
Partner pages can create monthly subscription tiers. For each subscription payment, Stripe's processing fee is deducted from the net amount. The page keeps its subscription share of the rest (90% by default) and we keep the remainder.
Each month, the page's subscription earnings are shared among the stories on the page according to their qualified reads (section 5). For each story, the page and the author split the story's part as agreed in their story agreement (section 6). For stories created by the page itself, the page keeps the whole part.
Partner pages can sell hardcopies, merchandise and courses. For each product, the page keeps its share for that category (90% by default) of the net product amount, and we keep the rest. We pay the Stripe fee on store sales. The page keeps all shipping charges.
If a product is linked to a story that an author attached to the page, the author receives part of the page's amount, as set in the story agreement.
We may add new ways to earn, for example a share of Urnovl Premium revenue. We will announce them in your Earnings tab, with their terms, before they start.
5. Qualified reads
To share subscription earnings fairly, we count only real reading. A read of a chapter, book or audiobook is "qualified" when our system is confident that a real person engaged with it. The main things we check are:
- time: reading or listening time compared with the expected time of the chapter, book or audio;
- progress: how far the reader scrolled, read or listened;
- activity: signals sent every 30 seconds while the reader is active.
A read never counts when:
- you read your own story;
- the same reader reads the same chapter again within 24 hours;
- the reader's account is less than 3 days old, unless the reader has an active subscription;
- the reading time is far too short to be real.
Longer books count for more: a PDF or ePub can give up to 5 credits, depending on how far it was read. We also watch for unusual patterns, such as many reads from the same place.
If you think your reads were counted wrongly, write to us. A person will review it.
6. Story agreements between pages and authors
When an author attaches a story to a partner page, or a page assigns a story to a member, both sides accept a story agreement. It sets, for that story:
- the page's share of subscription earnings and of each store category (hardcopy, merchandise, course, ebook, audiobook);
- how much of the story is free to read, and which chapters are for subscribers only.
The page sets default terms in its Earnings settings. Both sides see the exact terms before accepting. After acceptance, the terms stay fixed for that story. We calculate and pay each side's share as agreed, but we are not a party to the agreement between the page and the author.
An author receives story earnings only while the author is also a partner with a connected Stripe account.
8. Payouts
- Holding period. Money from Bravos and store sales becomes available 30 days after the payment. This protects against refunds and fraud. Subscription earnings are calculated after the end of each month.
- Withdrawing. Once your available balance reaches at least €10, you can withdraw it from your Earnings tab. We send it to your Stripe account. Stripe then pays it out to your bank on its own schedule.
- Tax deductions. Where the law requires, we deduct tax from your payout before sending it (see section 9).
- Refunds and chargebacks. If a payment you earned from is refunded or reversed, we deduct your share from your balance or future earnings.
- Currency. Earnings are calculated and paid in euro (EUR). Stripe may convert them to your bank's currency and charge for it.
9. Taxes and self-billing
Your taxes. You are responsible for declaring your earnings and paying your own taxes and social security contributions.
Self-billing. Where you accepted it in your application, you agree that we issue invoices (or royalty statements) on your behalf for the amounts we pay you. You agree not to issue your own invoices for these amounts, and to tell us at once if your tax details change or if you stop accepting self-billing. The document we issue depends on where you live and your tax status: for example a self-billed invoice, a title of acquisition, a royalty statement, or an export royalty statement.
Withholding. Where the law requires, we withhold tax from your payouts and pay it to the tax authority for you. The rate that applies to you is shown in your application and on each payout document.
Reporting. The law requires us to report partners' earnings to tax authorities, including under the EU rules for digital platforms (Council Directive 2021/514, known as "DAC7"). We may ask you for more information to do this. If you do not provide it, we may have to hold your payouts.
10. Your obligations
As a partner you must:
- follow the Terms of Service, the House Rules and the law;
- never fake reads, votes, reviews or payments, or ask others to do it;
- describe subscription benefits and products honestly, and deliver them;
- if you sell physical products: ship them on time with tracking, and help us handle returns, withdrawals and complaints from buyers;
- use buyers' and subscribers' personal data only to deliver what they bought, and protect it;
- deliver the prizes of competitions you host.
Buyers and subscribers are customers of Urnovl. Send them to us for payment questions, refunds and withdrawals.
11. Your Earnings dashboard
Your Earnings tab shows your available, pending and paid amounts, your Bravos, subscribers, orders, qualified reads per story, and your shares. It is based on our records, which are final unless you show us they are wrong. Tell us about any error within 6 months.
12. Suspension and ending the partnership
You can end the partnership at any time by writing to us. We pay out your available balance of €10 or more after the holding period.
We can end the partnership with at least 30 days' notice, and we tell you why.
We can suspend or end your partnership straight away, and hold your earnings while we investigate, if:
- you seriously or repeatedly break this agreement, the Terms of Service or the House Rules;
- we have good reason to suspect fraud, fake activity or illegal activity;
- the law or a public authority requires it.
We always tell you the reason, unless the law does not allow it. Earnings that came from fraud or fake activity are not paid. You keep all other earnings you made before the end.
13. Complaints
If you disagree with a decision about your application, earnings, shares, suspension or termination, write to support@urnovl.co. We review it and answer within 30 days. If we cannot agree, we are willing to try mediation before going to court.
14. Liability and law
We do not promise any level of earnings. We are not responsible for lost profit or business losses, except where we caused them intentionally or by gross negligence, or where the law does not allow this limit.
This agreement is governed by Greek law. The courts of Athens, Greece, have jurisdiction.
